Drafting students attending Middleton HS, enrolled in Architectural Drafting Program (AutoCad Certified)
Purpose/ Objectives: Drawing up Your Career Path:
· Provide the student with resources for their career path
· Expose 40 students to Advanced AUTOCAD in a real-world application. * (Community Project RFP)
· Expose to the various STEM Careers in the Building Industry
· Expose to Industry Professionals *(Guest Speakers)
· Expose to Suffolk SMART Lab Field Trip *(Shadowing and internships)
· Expose to Investor and Planning Department
The Project:
Revitalizing East Tampa Community Project provide creative designs for 28 empty lots in East Tampa. Students will create architectural design projects which fosters a greater connection with the East Tampa community by addressing a recognized need, attractive affordable housing. Students will be introduced to the advanced features of AutoCAD and related documentation. The lesson plans will specifically introduce students to common workflows inclusive of mapping, site investigation, sketching, scaled drawings, problem-solving, creating design documents and presentation skills.
Pre-requisites:
A successful candidate for the Autodesk Certified Professional: AutoCAD certification has a combination of approximately 400-1200 hours of training and hands-on experience with AutoCAD; is familiar with product features and capabilities; and is knowledgeable in relevant workflows, processes, and project objectives. The candidate can perform routine tasks involved in their job role with limited assistance from peers, product documentation, and support services. The minimally qualified candidate can efficiently set up and create a drawing and work in collaboration with colleagues. Furthermore, the successful candidate can utilize AutoCAD modeling and documentation tools and methodologies to produce quality deliverables working with minimal supervision.
